The Halfcrown coin was a part of the long redundant predecimal British currency system, and no longer has an exchange rate with other currencies. The coin represented Two Shillings and Sixpence (or half of a Crown, or 30 old Pence). At the time of Britains conversion to decimal currency in 1971, the Halfcrown converted to 12.5 New Pence. A Halfcrown GBP in 1970 had the purchasing power of about $2.04 USD today. NOTE - This historical conversion is the result of many calculations and considerations by a purpose designed program. The resulting answer should only be regarded as an approximation based on current exchange rates.
It is fairly easy. Apart from the dimensions, they are nothing alike. The British coin has GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX on the front. The New Zealand coin has GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR on the front. British coins do not have the country name on them. The New Zealand coin has NEW ZEALAND on the reverse.
Halfcrown coins do not have St George on them. Please have a closer look at your coin and post a new question. It is possible that you may have a crown and not a halfcrown. The crown's value would be anywhere from £15 (scrap value) to £350 in mint condition. Check the edge too to see which REGNAL YEAR (number of years the queen has been on the throne in Roman Numerals). It could be either LXIII or LXIV. The LXIII is rarer.
The Halfcrown was equal to Two Shillings and Sixpence or Thirty Pence in the old currency. A Halfcrown was one-eighth of an old pre-decimal Pound. At the conversion to decimal currency, the Halfcrown became the equivalent of 12.5 New Pence or one-eighth of a "decimal" Pound.
The New Zealand Halfcrown was issued in most years from 1933 to 1965. Any collector value would depend on the year and condition of the coin.
