I assume you are referring to a large cent piece, about the size of a half dollar. An 1828 cent would retail for about $20 if well-worn, up to about 10 or 11 times that if almost uncirculated.

ALL U.S. coins carry the word LIBERTY and many from that date have a portrait of Miss Liberty. Please post a new question with more details including the denomination, and whether there is a mint mark on the coin.

For normal issues, retail is $14 to $50 depending on condition.

There is also an "overdate" issue that looks as if there is a shadow "8" underneath the "5" in 1851. These are worth roughly double the value of non-overdated issues.
