Try finding out if it is silver by using a magnet (could be silvered brass too). But if it is silver well at least you'll get back the value of silver per oz at you local jeweler.

1867 is a better date for Indian Head cents. In well worn condition, it's worth about $30. Lightly worn, with a complete and clearly readable LIBERTY in the headband, it's worth about $75. A nice uncirculated one is worth $200 or more.
