Franklin halves are very common, even in Mint State. Most have retail values just above the intrinsic (silver) value. EXAMPLE: With silver at $41.22 per ounce the Melt Value of all the coins is $14.90 per coin. A uncirculated 1963-D Franklin in the grade of MS-60 has a retail value of $15.30. But as with all coins, value depends on the date, grade and mintmarks, the 1949-S in MS-60 is $65.00.
