No the first Carson City Dollar coin was the 1870 Seated Liberty
The Carson City, Nevada Mint produced 3 different series of one dollar coins from 1870 to 1893. Seated Liberty / 19,288 Trade Dollar / 4,211,400 Morgan dollar / 13,862,041 TOTAL= 18,092,729
The earliest Carson City silver dollar is the 1870-CC Seated Liberty dollar.
In 1861, the only Seated Liberty Dollar was minted in Philadelphia; its value in good condition (G4) is: $400.
Look at the coin again all 1845 Liberty Seated dollars were struck in Philadelphia, so an 1845 can't have a CC mintmark, and the Carson City Mint did not exist in 1845.
The "Liberty Seated" coins were mostly minted between 1837 - 1891, except for the Dollars. The Seated Liberty Dollar was minted from 1840 - 1873. The Gobrecht Dollar minted 1836 - 1839 and the Trade Dollars minted 1873 - 1885 also show a seated liberty figure. The Related Link contains pictures of all major U.S. coin types. The U.S. Mint has never produced a one troy ounce seated liberty coin. I can only deduce that you have a privately minted one ounce silver round that has a seated liberty design on it. These have been minted for decades and continue to be minted every year by private companies.
Trade Dollars were minted from 1873 to 1885. The dollar that was minted in 1872 was the Seated Liberty Dollar, if it has a (CC) mintmark and the coin is in good condition, the coin could be worth thousands. *If it says 1872, and Trade Dollar, it is a copy (fake) of a pattern coin from 1873, which used the Seated Liberty obverse and one of two "trade dollar" reverse sides. These copies are readily and cheaply available, and some do not bear the legally-required 'COPY' imprint. Most contain no silver at all.
If you have a Seated Liberty dollar dated 1875, then you have a counterfeit -- the last year for them was 1873
Morgan dollars were minted from 1878 to 1904 and in 1921. Your coin is either a Seated Liberty dollar or a Trade dollar. Please see the Related Question for more.
The Carson City Mint did not exist in 1842, so no Liberty Seated dollar dated 1842 could have a "CC" Mintmark.
