Two types of bills were printed in the 1934 series.

If you have a 1934 C bill with a blue seal that says Silver Certificate across the top, as of 08/2010 it's worth $6 to $9 retail in average circulated condition, and about $25 if uncirculated.

If it has a green seal and says Federal Reserve Note, the price ranges are $7-$12 and $50.

Of course a dealer will buy for less since they are paying wholesale prices.

If the seal is blue it is a silver certificate and is worth $8 to $12 in circulated condition. In uncirculated condition they are worth $45 or more. If the seal is green it is a Federal Reserve note and is worth $7 to $12 in circulated condition and $50 or more if uncirculated.

1934 $5 bills were printed as both Federal Reserve Notes and Silver certificates but D was the highest series letter for both. Presumably you have a Federal Reserve Note with a large G indicating the bill was distributed by the Chicago district. If that's the case there's more information at the Related Question.

Blue seal: $6 if worn, $8 if only a bit of wear shows.
