1956 is a very common date, most are face value to 3 cents. Mint State coins sell for about 25 cents.

Look at the coin again. No 1956 Lincoln cents will have an "S" mintmark. 1955 was the last year for wheat penny's from the San Francisco mint.

No mint mark means it was minted in Philadelphia. 1956 is a common date, and the coin is currently worth 3 cents.
