As of 01/2010 auction values are approximately:

1966 with no letter by the date:

$125-$200 in circulated condition

$375 or more if uncirculated

1966 with an A by the date:

$200-$275 in circulated condition

$800 or more if uncirculated

Red printing

Red ink and serial numbers indicate that these are US Notes. US Notes were printed for about a century but were eliminated in favor of printing all currency as Federal Reserve Notes. 1966-A $100 bills were the last series of US Notes printed.

Serial Numbers

It's normally not necessary to provide a bill's serial number. Serial numbers are counters and a security feature but rarely affect a bill's value. Some collectors will pay extra for numbers with a special pattern, e.g. 12345678, or low numbers such as 00000015.

Please don't assume that every old bill is a silver certificate. The last $100 silver certificates were printed back in 1891. The red seal and banner reading "UNITED STATES NOTE" at the top of your bill indicate it's a US Note rather than a silver certificate.
