Assuming it's from circulation, about 2 cents. Uncirculated, about a nickel. Proof, about a quarter.

The San Francisco Mint struck cents and nickels in the late 1960s and early 1970s to help alleviate the coin shortages that resulted from eliminating silver in dimes, quarters, and halves. While these coins are less common than their Denver or Philadelphia cousins they were still struck in enormous quantities so they really don't have any extra value.

What is the value of a 1974 US cent?

Any that you find in change will be worth face value only - nearly 9 billion US cents were minted in 1974 so they're hardly scarce. A nice uncirculated one might bring 15 cents or a quarter at retail.Note - San Francisco made cents for circulation from 1968 to 1974 so if you find a '74-S cent in change it's not a mint error or an "escaped" proof coin.

What is the value of a 1968 US nickel?

The only 1968 Jefferson nickels minted that year were minted in Denver and San Francisco. Therefore, the coin should be bearing a "D" or "S" mark, too. * a 1968-D coin in very fine condition (VF20) is: 10 cents; in MS65 condition, its value is: $5. * a 1968-S coin in VF20 is worth: 10 cents; in MS65, its value is: $12.
