An Australian 1973 Fifty Dollar note (Phillips/Wheeler), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $420 AUD. If it has circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from $75 to $200 AUD.
If it is the first or last of a serial number range, or a Star note, the value will increase dramatically.
A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.
It's just a common half dollar, spend it.
All Australian banknotes have a serial number. For each issue of banknotes, there will be a first and last serial number. The Australian paper Fifty Dollar note issued in 1973 with the signatories Phillips/Wheeler, had a first serial number of YAA 000000. The last note printed in that series had a serial number of YAU 999999. The next series of Australian paper Fifty Dollar note issued in 1976 with the signatories Knight/Wheeler, had a first serial number of YAV 000000. The last note printed in that series had a serial number of YBX 999999. Banknotes with first and last serial numbers usually have a higher collector value.
Maybe you mean Kennedy? Unless it is a proof coin or very high grade uncirculated, it's worth fifty cents.
one dollar
Unless it is in Uncirculated condition (in which case it may be worth a couple of dollars), a 1973-D Kennedy half dollar is only worth fifty cents. All circulating half dollars dated 1971 and later are made of copper-nickel, so they really do not have any premium value.
The original paper Fifty Dollar note released between 1973 and 1993, had Lord Howard Walter Florey (Pathologist) on the front, and Sir Ian Clunies Ross (Veterinary scientist) on the back. They were progressively withdrawn from circulation in favour of the polymer notes from 1995. The new polymer Fifty Dollar note released from 1995 onwards, has David Unaipon (Inventor, preacher & author) on the front, and Dame Edith Cowan (Social worker, politician & feminist) on the back.
Australia puts famous or historically significant Australian identities on its banknotes. The original paper Fifty Dollar note released between 1973 and 1993, had Lord Howard Walter Florey (Pathologist who developed penicillin) on the front, and Sir Ian Clunies Ross (Veterinary scientist and Chairman of CSIRO) on the back. They were progressively withdrawn from circulation in favour of the polymer notes from 1995. The new polymer Fifty Dollar note released from 1995 onwards, has David Unaipon (Aboriginal inventor, preacher & author) on the front, and Dame Edith Cowan (Social worker, politician & feminist) on the back.
sorry no such thing.
The coin is a common quarter so spend it.
It is worth face value unless it is in a high uncirculated grade it is worth 75 cents.
50 cents to a store clerk, to a collector the sky is the limits!
It's worth 50 cents.
