Please check again and post a new question. The last $1 silver certificates were dated 1957 and no $1 bills were printed with a 1983 date.
A US half dollar with a date of 1983 is a Kennedy half dollar not a liberty half dollar. The coin has no silver and most are only face value.
The only commemorative dollar struck that year is a 1983 Los Angeles Olympiad "Discus Thrower" coin. A proof "S" mintmark coin in the grade of PF-69 has a current market value of $35.00.
there is no year on the coin
One dollar.
50 cents.
50 cents
If it's a circulation coin made out of nickel, it's only worth face value. If it's a silver proof, it could be worth about $15.
What is the value of a dollar in 1983 compared to 2008. cable bill, gallon of milk, rent/ mortgage???etc...
Its value is nothing, except for sentimental value.
No such thing. The US didn't mint any dollar coins that year.
its worth about one dollar
It is not silver and likely only face value. But, a uncirculated half dollar dated 1982 or 1983 may be worth a little more to a collector or dealer because the Mint did not issue uncirculated coin sets (called Mint Sets) in 1982 & 1983 and Mint State coins of those years are popular among collectors.
