These coins are no longer in circulation since Irelands changeover to the Euro in 2002.

Unless they are part of a Proof or Uncirculated mint set or are individual Proof or Uncirculated coins and in absolute mint condition, they have little or no value.

What is the value of a 1998 Eire 20 Pence coin?

There are still lots of them to be found in Ireland, and anyone that would have travelled to Ireland from then until 2001 might also have them. So as a collector's item, it is not worth much. You did not say if it was a 20p coin, in which case it has very little value, or a 20 pound note, which would have more monetary value, but you can only get it from the Irish Central Bank in Dame Street in Dublin. So unless you are in Ireland, it is not worth travelling for.

What is the value of an 1861 Eire 50 Pence coin?

Please check that date again. Ireland (Eire in Gaelic) did not use decimal denomination coins until 1970, and in any case, the country was under British rule in 1861 so a coin from that date would not have its inscriptions in Gaelic. Look at the coin again"Eire" is read while it is at the top of the coin. If you rotate the coin so that the numbers are at the top you will see that the date is actually "1981". The Irish (or Eire) 50 Pence coin was not introduced into the currency until 1970.
