not worth much here in '09 :) It's a novelty item called a magician's coin made by cutting apart two genuine coins and swapping sides. They sell for a few bucks in hobby and novelty shops but are considered to be altered/damaged coins with no collector interest.
Turn the coin over and check the denomination on the back. It's a 50 cent piece, not a dollar. The U.S. did not make any dollar coins in 1968.
If the portrait looks like JFK it's a JFK half dollar! More specifically, if it's dated 1964 or later.
The US Mint never placed a star on a cent so someone else has marked it for their own reason. Marks such as this lower the value of a collector coin.
There are 2 contenders for the rarest U.S. cent (=penny): Among circulated coins it's the 1793 "strawberry" design cent, which retails for about $300,000 even in worn condition. Among UNcirculated coins it's the 1793 "wreath" design cent, which retails for over half a million dollars. There are several unique British pennies, most notably the 1933 proof issue which is effectively priceless. No one can put a value on it because there is only one.
One cent, I'm afraid. It's not a US Mint product. It was created by a private company that took ordinary cents and used a punch to add a picture of the lunar module. These coins were sold in sets as supposed collectibles, but because they're altered coins they have no added value to coin collectors. IF you had one in its original holder there are novelty collectors who might pay a small premium, but an individual coin is really only a conversation piece.
Kennedy is on the US half dollar (50 cent) coin and Lincoln is on the penny (1 cent) coin.
There is no such animal.
5 cents.
The 'H' adds nothing to the 50 cent value of the coin.
All Kennedy halves were minted in the US. Your coin has been altered outside of the mint and has no additional value.
There are no U.S. half dollars dated 1975.
It's still worth 50 cents.
This is a novelty coin made by stamping Kennedy's head on a cent. This was NOT done by the U.S. Mint and it has no collectible value.
1965-1970 Kennedy half dollars are 40% silver with a value of about $2.00 for the silver.
how much is a double died 1957 penny worth
It's a dime, and has no more than face value spend it
Its value is 50 cents and has no silver at all in it.
