All circulation-issue Kennedy half dollars dated 1971 and later are made of copper-nickel and are only worth 50 cents.
If you have an uncirculated copper-nickel one, its retail value is just slightly more, 65¢ to $2.00 for most grades. The only ones that have any significant premium are graded MS-65 and above.
A copper-nickel proof version with an S mint mark sells for about $6. A silver proof (also S) sells for about $22. Prices are retail, as of 04/2009
