Check that coin again. The last year for silver 5-cent pieces (half dimes) in the U.S. was 1873. Then the only nickels to contain silver are dated 1942-1945 (war nickels).
A "dime", or ten-cent piece, has a value of 0.1 dollars.
Twenty-cent piece, Half-Dime, Three-cent piece, two-cent piece & the Half-cent.
a ten cent piece is smaller.
A fifty cent piece and a nickel. One is not a nickel, but the other one is.
a 10 cent piece and a 50 cent piece ( we don't have dimes in our currency so it's not a problem) (check the wording, if it says that one isn't a dime then that is because the fifty cent piece isn't a dime)

1966 Kennedy half dollar is 40% silver and valued at about $2.50 for the silver.
Look at the again, with a date of 1854 it's not a nickel three cent piece, it should be a silver three cent piece. Post new question.

A 1962 half dollar is 90% silver. The circulated value is $7.01 because of the silver content. The uncirculated value is $20.
Unless you find someone that wants it the value is just for the silver.
If it shows any sign of ware at all the value is for the silver only, that's about $1.00
1965-1970 Kennedy half dollars are 40% silver with a value of about $2.00 for the silver.
This is not a coin made by the US mint. It was made by a private mint. It is only worth the value of the metal the coin contains. If the coin is truly silver it is probably worth 5-20 dollars depending on the amount of silver.
