The Universal company did make a civilian version of the M1 Carbine. Not all of the Universals use the same parts as the military issue M1 carbine. Please note this is caliber .30 Carbine, and not the 30-06 caliber of the M1 Garand rifle.
yes, a center fire rifle. Either in 30/06 or 308 caliber. The M1 garand was a 1936 product of the military but did not see much service until the beginnng of WW2
It depends on many factors such as the condition, the history, the amount of shots fired, and many other factors. Prices can range from 500 to 15,000(only in mint condition WWII era rifles).
The M1 Garand shoots a 30-06 caliber round. When the Garand was first being developed, it was intended for a cartridge known as the .276 Pedersen, which was dropped in favor of the larger 30-06. The US Navy attempted to convert some M-1 Garands to the 7.62 NATO cartridge in later years with very limited success.
The Garand fires the 30-06 rifle cartridge, and the Carbine fires the .30Carbine personal defence (pistol) cartridge.
It was manufactured in 1928. It is .30 caliber (30 Winchester Center Fire is another name for the 30-30 cartridge). The value will depend on the condition and originality.
