Browning BlR
AFAIK, Browning didn't make any rifles in that caliber.
You will have to call Browning to find out.
There is no way of knowing without you providing the Model of Browning rifle that you own,its caliber, and a good description of your rifles overall condition.
I spoke with a representative of Browning yesterday afternoon... I only asked about the .30-06 version, and apparently only 305 were scheduled to be made in that caliber.
No way to answer without more information on both rifles.
The Browning wwebsite, under customer service, has serial number ranges for different firearms. Yu should find yours there. VERY nice rifles, great caliber.
The 12.7x99mm/Caliber .50 cartridge used in rifles such as the Barret M82, MacMillan Tac-50, and others, as well as in the M2 machine gun is known as the .50 BMG - not the weapons themselves. BMG stands for "Browning Machine Gun", as the cartridge was developed for the Browning M2 machine gun.
Browning made the first sucessful semi auto shotgun over 100 years ago, along with semi auto rifles (BAR from WW 1) pistols (Browning Hi Power from 1935) and machine guns (.50 caliber Browning)
Browning Automatic Rilfe
Could your serial number read 8E instead of B?If so your rifle was made in the year 1968.Browning did not use the prefix of the letter B ahead of its serial numbers for any rifles in 22 caliber.
