it is very difficult to ESTIMATE the value of anything without seeing it. the same goes for a appraiser, who would want to see the item first hand. other aspects are the overall condition. metal finish, grips, bore, etc, etc. Any rust/pitts ? if fair to good then it should make it a SHOOTER which are not high dollars. in your case I would say, sight unseen, about $500 to $900 with luck
Impossible to answer without a detailed description and the serial number. It is a 1911-A1, 45 Cal., Olive Drab in Color, Made in 1938 (?), Serial # 1950 Excellent Condition......As New

100-1000 or more depending on specifics
the serial number is too HIGH for 1911 military pistols........
would need a serial number to answer the question.....................

age of the military 1911 is based on serial number................
In order to get the age and other information about a gun you can go to your local police department and have them run the serial number thru their ID systems.
Dozens of companies made 1911s, and there is no commonality to Serial numbers. If you 1011 is a Colt, you can contact colt customer service.
your pistol was made by Ithaca Company in 1943. Value depends on overall condition...
You can find a list of Colt M1911 and M1911A1 production serial numbers at http://www.coolgunsite.com/pistols/colt%20production.htm. Going by the numbers in your question (7071), it looks like you have a M1911 that was made for the Navy in 1912, the first year of production.
made by Ithaca in 1944
