I'm not sure of the value. Mine is in rough shape but has to be one of the best blades I've ever owned as far as keeping a good edge. From the research I've done there were many knives that came from Germany in the Overland name not long after WWII. Fred Mac was a big name, but that name doesn't appear on my knife. Mine has 712 as well. Most forums say the value is low, but they do not specify a certain style or type.
