What you're describing is called a Standing Liberty quarter. Please see the Related Question for more information, especially if the date is worn off which was very common with early issues of this design.

What you have is probably a bullion coin issued by a private mint. It has no numismatic value and its worth is determined by the market price of silver which today is $31.01 U.S. Dollars.
Umm... 25 cents?? Haha, but for real on ebay who knows it could raise up to 50 dollars or more.
Like every thing else it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I have seen a small rock sell for 100.00 dollars. Rock is a great pet. It is the cheapest pet to maintain.
