Just paid $350 for 788 in 30-30 caliber.
$500-$600
Remington did not make a carbine in .44 Magnum caliber. They did chamber the Model 788 rifle in that caliber. Do you have a Ruger carbine in .44 Remington Magnum, or perhaps a Marlin in that caliber? sales@countrygunsmith.net

100-400 USD
As with all guns, the value depends on rarity and condition. A 788 in good condition in the most common caliber, .308, will sell for about $300 and up. It has this high value because it was one of the most accurate rifles ever sold, and is still being used by custom gun builders to make target rifles.
788's are about as rear as hens teeth. they were made in the 60's. just keep looking good luck. try gun shows
