The Winchester model 1895 was a rifle, not a shotgun. If you are reffering to your shotgun being made in 1895,Then I would need to know the model number and serial number to give you a accurate value along with the shotguns overall condition(amount of blueing remaining, and finish to the buttstock and forearm).

In order to assign a value to your Winchester model 1895 rifle,I would need a more detailed description of the overall condition of the rifle in question. These rifles are very collectable and you would be wise to have a member of the Winchester collectors assoc.evaluate your rifle and assess a hard value to your rifle. This will be based on the overall remaining finish on the rifle, any special order options it may have, and the rarity of the rifles caliber.
go to: gunsamerica.com bring up Winchester rifles and check condition and price of those listed.......................
Need to know the finish and condition, box, accessories, etc..
All my references indicate that the winchester model 1895 was never chambered in 38-55 winchester caliber. Is it possable that your rifle was rechambered in the past? Please check your caliber again. It could be that your rifle is chamered in 38-72 win.
The collector value of your Winchester Model 1895 can only be assessed by a visual inspection & evaluation. Old Winchesters are very much like old classic automobiles... the graded condition and factory originality are the key factors in determining what they are truly worth. Of significant importance is the specific caliber that it is chambered for, the variation, and when exactly it was made (the serial number will determine the date of manufacture).
It means they began making that MODEL of Mauser in 1895. You will need to have someone that knows older Mauser makes a hands on assessment of your rifle. Value depends on make, model, condition- and with military riles, originality- modifications lose value.
The 1895 Winchester which was made in Japan was actually made by Miroku firearms under contract for Winchester. It is not a replica, but a contracted Winchester. They have been made on a limited run basis in different calibers for the last decade. Prior to that Miroku also made the same rifle under contract from Browning Firearms. Miroku is currently still making the 1895 for the Winchester Firearms Company, and Winchester is still selling them. New in the Box and Unfired with all papers are getting about $1300 US, but if they have been fired or used, value starts declining rapidly. 99% condition but used would garner approximately $900, while a 90% condition rifle would be worth considerably less.
