I assume you're referring to an Eisenhower dollar. If so, it's not silver. Check the edge - it's made of the same copper/nickel "sandwich" metal as dimes and quarters. So unless your coin is a proof coin in its original package, it's only worth face value.

The value of the coin, of course, depends on the value of silver at the time of sale/determination. The 1971-S (out of the San Francisco Mint), is 40% silver, as opposed to the aforementioned "copper/nickel 'sandwich'," which means the value is much higher than those from other mints.
These sell online for $3-4.
Eisenhower silver dollars were not well-circulated. Uncirculated coins from 1971 are worth a few times their original value whereas worn, circulated coins are worth only a few cents more than their original value.
on the collecting side aroud $3 depending on condition.....the siver value is worth a little more than that on the melt value side.
Do you mean the circulating dollar coin minted from 1971 to 1978, or the commemorative coin issued in 1990? The circulating coins are worth only a dollar each. The commemoratives are worth about $15.
Face value only.
Check that coin again. Eisenhower was on a large dollar, and Kennedy is on the half dollar. Either way, a circulated specimen is worth face value.
One dollar.

With the date of 1971 it's a EISENHOWER DOLLAR not a Liberty dollar. Only the proof and uncirculated coins sold from the Mint have more than face value regardless of date.
