When you find a Wyoming state quarter that HAS detail on the horse and rider, you will have something special.
Wyoming uses a plain silhouette of a horse and rider on its license plates; it was intentionally reproduced that way on the coin so NONE of them have any details.
I have seen the same quarter you have seen from the Denver mint with the circles and the shallow looking strike.It is not pretty,however the coin in the official U.S.Mint Set is a pretty coin with no detail on the horse and rider,very plain indeed.I have a P minted coin that has been struck so hard,it looks just like the image of the state of Wyoming is behind the cowboy,but this is not likely since the U. S. Mint Set coin has no such image.Thought I would keep them anyway,as they are different looking.
I added the link for the Mint's page about the Wyoming. The back looks basically as the committee in Wyoming and the Mint engravers designed it. Also, the P minted coin was an alternative design that DID have the state of Wyoming behind the cowboy. That one may be worth more but I have no way to determine that.
I too have one of these quarters, mis-stamped is an understatement, the one I have also was struck so poorly that the last N in "NEN" to the right of 2007, has the last N only partially visible, with last leg of the N missing.
Correction to aboveThe lettering is a monogram and the letters are intertwined. Check using a good magnifier.
