Value is too difficult to be accurate without seeing the gun. Condition which includes the amount of original finish and original configuration will determine value. Recommend taking it to a gun shop for appraisal.
I have 2 of them used but excellent condition. ramaswamyb@gmail.com

Condition Two does not apply to the M-16 rifle. Condition One is: A round is chambered, or ready to fire, and the safety is on. Condition Two is the same, plus the hammer is forward (handgun). Since the M-16 does not have a hammer it does not apply.
The age is pre World War II and the value can be anywhere from 2,000 dollars to over 5,000 dollars. This depends on the condition of the gun.
Made @ 1966. The hammer had a hole in it. Value 100-1000. You didn't describe it, so I can't narrow it down any farther.
excellent tool for road side attitude adjustments
