There have been several non-denominated flag stamps. They were used to cover increases in postal rates when they weren't sure how much would be authorized. Check the US Postal web site for specific pictures to match up with the one you have.

The value depends on when it was issued. Such stamps were printed

at times when a rate hike was expected but the amount was not

known. As soon as the new rate was set, stamps with the same design

but with the actual denomination were printed.

You post office can tell what any such stamp is worth and most have

This is a 34 cents stamp and if unused, can still be used for postage to that amount.

Used, it is valuable only to a stamp collector, but since it was available for very long,

a young collector might well enjoy having it. A dealer might well charge him 20 cents for one.

The value of the stamp is normally on the stamp itself. If it says forever, it is worth the current first class rate, which as of June 10 is 44¢.
