If it says sterling silver on it, it could be worth several hundred dollars weight wise to a numismatic store owner, who buys sterling according to the markets rate at approximately 20 dollars an ounce (10-27-2010). For a collector of silver plated items it may even be worth 20 to 150 dollars total if it helps to complete a silver plated set, as usually the tray completes the set for the silver plated creamer and sugar, etc. containers. If it isn't marked "sterling silver" then it would really only be worth what someone offers you, other than a keepsake of sentimental value to yourself as a possible family heirloom. lawrence_ingle@yahoo.com
Depending on the size and shape of the tray, it ranges anywhere from $40-50 for round trays. If its a "waiters tray" which are rectangular, its worth about $80. The tea pot is right about $75. and the coffee pot is valued right around $65.
If your proof set has 9 coins it is worth $15. If it has 5 state quarters it is worth $9. If it is a regular silver proof set it is worth $144.
Not all that much. Most of the value in it comes from the 40% silver half dollar it contains, worth about $5 in silver. So the set is worth about $5-7 or so.
A diamond is worth what it's worth, regardless of where and how it's set in jewelery. A diamond's worth depends on its carat weight, its colour, its cut and its clarity.
