It would have been extremely beneficial because I found a concise, simple answer to my question and wanted to to say how much I appreciated how easy it was to understand a previously confusing concept. However, something is wrong with my facebook thingy that lets me tell the world what I like and don't like, therefore, I now have a much more NEGATIVE attitude after having gained this knowledge. Jeez! If I really have to tell everyone in God's creation when I like one person's sensibility, at least make it simple to do. Now the person will never know that I liked the answer because I really don't feel like getting on facekook (:-) to find out what their problem is with my account. Unlike the rest of society, I am typically too busy living my life to rush home to report on it to the rest of the world. Anyhow, I liked one answer, but this has done terrible things to my previously positive attitude. Thanks for asking.

Why kids try in sports but not in school?

The reason is motivation and a misconception that smart people are not the way to be. The attitude concerning learning is very poor and education is discounted as something that is not needed. Many families also don't put a value on education, but do put a value on running, catching, or bouncing a ball. I have had parents tell me that their child couldn't stay after school for help in a subject because they had a game of some sort to play. This teaches the child that the sport is more important than learning. The media and other things in the society add to this attitude so the general feeling is it is better to be good at sports than learning to read or do math.
