They:re cool and non-violent and- indeed an object lesson for comics creator. they were made by marvel comic group and are totally unlike Marvel Super Heroes who grunt around with Bad Grammar ( watch yer Langwitch, Cornball!) it:s Clobbering Time. In one I saw some years back ( plot may have been called assignment EPA) Barbie and Ken in unusual red and white flight suites parachute into the Amazon Jungle on a peaceable mission that has them ending up- saving a river otter, whom Barbie is protectively petting and reassuring she will relocate the beast in a safer area-evidentally the EPa was called in when some industrial structure ( odd I smell chemicals as I am writing this) backed up into the river- a spill. story was handled well and with beautiful wild life- sort of Tarzan or Biblical duo- in modern dress and reverse-and all came out welll. If Assignment EPA was typical of comic book Barbie- it was good stuff and in the Green Light ( environmentally friendly). The Dell comic books from 1964--there were only four issues--can sell for $100 each in mint condition--if you can find them at all! The Marvel Barbie and Barbie Fashion comic books from the mid-1990s--there were dozens of issues because they were published for several years--sell for about $1.50 each on ebay.
