The only denomination struck for circulation bearing JFK's image is the half dollar, not a dollar, as can be seen on the coin's reverse where it says "Half Dollar". Unless the coin is a proof or uncirculated, all halves from 1971 and later are standard cupronickel clad coins and are only worth face value.
Please check your coin again. Lincoln is on the penny, JFK is on the half dollar.
If you mean a bicentennial half dollar, it's just 50 cents.
It's not JFK, it's Ben Franklin and the value is about $12.00 just for the silver. NOTE: JFK appeared in 1964 for the first time on the half dollar
If you look on the back it's a HALF dollar, not a dollar. Value is about $2.00 for the silver content.
