Because a gas will expand to fill the other half. Gas has no defined volume. Liquids do.
stones :)
bottle whistle
The volume reach the half.
Half a jug as the surface area to volume ratio is reduced therefore heat can escape quicker from the surface
He filled a bath half way with water then when he went in he found out that the water moved up, he wondered how that happened. So he started to study further into it....
The average bath holds about 240 litres (64 gallons), so half full would hold about 120 litres (32 gallons).
You simply calculate it like a cone, but the height of the cone is the height to the top of the FILLED part, not all the way. Half-filled is not enough information . . . there can be "half filled" meaning half the height of the cone, but can also be "half filled" meaning half the volume of the cone.
you need to fill a bath half full. then get into the bath and go under the water. the resultant height change in the water level will reflect you volume. I would suggest that you remain under the water for at least 10mins to allow the water surface level to stablise
It depends on what size bathtub you have.
1. Fill bath half way 2. Mark the level of the water with a marker pen (line A) 3. Get into the bath 4. Completely submerge yourself into the water, get someone to mark the level of the water with you still completely submerged (line B) 5. Get out of the bath 6. The water level should have gone down back to line A 7. Using a mesuring jug, fill the bath until it has reached line B.. keeping count of the amount of water you've added. 8. The amount of water you added is your body volume :)
Not always easy. Since density is defined as the mass of a unit volume of material, you would measure the volume of the rock by putting it into a container half filled with water and then measure the volume change.
depends on the size of the bath tub
A partial bath in a home is also sometimes called a half bath, or a 3/4 bath. A half bath has a sink and toilet, a 3/4 bath has a shower, sink, and toilet.
They were filled with waste water.
