Myfanwy, The fact that the TV has power and is playing sound, I am lead to believe that the LCD backlight or the LCD itself has failed. I am assuming that you have disconnected all cables and reconnected them at both ends as a troubleshooting step. Sanyo has a warranty on that model that is 1 year parts and labor. If you have your purchase receipt and are within the first year, I would highly recommend calling Sanyo Support at 1-800-421-5013. They will direct you to an authorized service center. Based on the model number: DP26649, I have determined that the Sanyo television is a 26" LCD model. If you are outside of the warranty period, I would doubt that it is economical to repair.
