He puts a pig head on a stick for sacrificedand food for the bestie. He does this twice.
Jack says that they should continue to make offerings and sacrifices to the beast in order to keep it happy and prevent it from harming them.
To give the beast the pig's head
Jack says they will leave the head of a sow for the beast as an offering in Chapter 8. He believes it will appease the beast and prevent it from attacking the boys.
He says that he will protect them from the "beast" and that they can have meat with him and the warmth of the fire.
ralph to piggy
Ralph believes the beast is a figment of the boys' imagination, a product of their fear and the darkness within them. Jack, on the other hand, promotes the idea of a physical beast on the island to instill fear in the boys and consolidate his power.
Jack wants others to fear the beast because it gives him power and control. By creating fear among the group, he is able to manipulate their actions and decisions to his advantage. Additionally, instilling fear in others helps Jack assert his authority and dominance over the group.
In chapter 1 of Lord of the Flies, Jack does not kill the pig with his knife because he's still innocent at this point in the book and cannot bear to actually cut into living flesh. However, as time proceeds, Jack adopts a much more savage personality.
Jack feels that Ralph is always protecting Piggy, whom Jack sees as Ralph's weak and dependent friend. This leads to conflict between them as Jack believes that Piggy should not receive special treatment.
During the meeting, when the littlun with the mulberry coloured birthmark on his face first mentioned the snake-thing or beastie, Ralph declared, "But there isn't a beastie!" Jack then said "Ralph's right of course. There isn't a snake-thing." Unfortunately he then contradicted the impact of this statement by adding "But if there was a snake we'd hunt it and kill it... And we'll look for the snake too---" Ralph protested again, "But there isn't a snake!" To which Jack replied, "We'll make sure when we go hunting." So in effect Jack gave credence to the littlun's story instead of just dismissing it as Ralph had done.
Both Piggy and Simon deny the existence of a physical "beast" on the island. However, Simon believes that though not physical, there is a beast. Such a beast is the one that is inside all of the boys, and is inside all those of humans. The innate evil of mankind.
Jack Says was created in 2008.
Ralph states quite clearly, on several occasions, that "there is no beast." Jack, while appearing to agree with Ralph, then adds, "but if there were a beast my hunters would hunt it down and kill it." Later Jack leaves offerings from his kill to appease the beast.
The duration of Jack Says is 1.47 hours.
