The Rocky Mountains significantly influence Denver's weather by acting as a barrier to moisture-laden air masses coming from the west. This results in orographic lifting, which causes precipitation on the western slopes while leaving Denver relatively dry. Additionally, the mountains can create localized weather patterns, leading to rapid temperature changes and sudden storms in the Denver area. Overall, the Rockies contribute to Denver's semi-arid climate and variability in weather conditions.

Johannesburg is located in the Subtropics of the Southern Hemisphere, but up in elevation a little higher than Denver, for example. So in mid-June, winter is upon them but the weather tends to be fairly mild and dry. You can view the current weather and the forecast at the link below.
Yes I have lived here for almost ten years, and there is definitely something wrong... We have had almost no days this summer from early may until now mid august, that have been rain free.. The weather has been so rainy it fells like Indonesia... This is man made... For the few times that we have had sun there have been unidentified planes spraying strange mist that stay around for hours... They whoever "they" are are definitely doing something to change the weather
I love Denver's weather. Most people assume its always freezing but I wouldn't trade the weather here for anything. There is almost no humidity because of the altitude and there is a constant fresh breeze from the mountains that in spring to fall it seems perfect all the time. Granted it can get cold and really cold but that's true anywhere. Snow is always a bigger factor too but at the same time it can snow 4 inches in the morning, be sunny by noon, melt by 2 and be 80 by 4. I agree, Denver is a 4 seasons in one day kind of town but it's beautiful. The air always feels great and you actually feel like uour getting fresh air. Weather can be very unpredictable though. There can be a snowfall downpour in June. I remember going up to Keystone a couple summers ago and was laying out one day and throwing snowballs the next. If you don't like the possibility of unpredictable weather, then you wouldn't like Denver. I like the randomness; it never gets boring. Average year high temp is 64; averag
