There is some debate (all right, arguing) on this subject, but many would agree that Samhain is highly significant. It takes place on the evening of October 31st, and unlike its derivative, Halloween, it is a time when we take a serious look at our lives and our mortality, as well as pondering those who have passed on before us. Some also consider it to be a good time to contact and commune with the dead, but this is not universal.
