Planet Earth - 13.3 per km². If just Earth's land area (of 150 million km²) is taken into account, then human population density increases to 45.3 per km². This calculation includes all continental and island land area, including Antarctica. If Antarctica is excluded, then population density rises to 50 people per km²

This is a measure of average population density. If the United States has a population of 300 million people and is 3,537,441 square miles, we can say that the United States has an average number of 85 people per square mile. Compare this to the country of Bangladesh, which has a population of 160 million but is also only 55,598 square miles. Bangladesh has over 2800 people per square mile! To calculate the average number of people per square mile you can use the following equation: number of people / area of land people live in
The average population density for the World is 117.1 people per square mile. Of the populated countries Greenland has the lowest population density with 0.067 people per square mile however Antarctica is unpopulated. This is not accurate. The State has an average of 1000 people per square mile. If one city has 1500 people per square mile and another has 500 people per square mile, their average population density would be 1000. When you compare the average to the actual data you can see that their is a large discrepancy.
