For one thing you should chew all food thoroughly before swallowing. The worst thing you could swallow on accident is probably a quarter which can clog your air way. You can choke on almost anything though.

Anything that you can swallow and is not chewed thoroughly if it food. You will choke, your breathing airway will not work properly and you may black out. While reading The Lovely Bones, Susie's brother swallows a stick and almost dies...so really it just matters the size, the hardness etc.
