For such a simple question there's a long and complex answer that asks more questions than provides answers.

You can research this answer yourself using the largest watch sales site I'm aware of, which is of course eBay.

Gruens are not your high-end watches. It's part of the draw for many collectors. You can get a beautiful watch for a reasonable price. I'll go out on a limb and set expectations that unless you have something solid platinum or have history behind your watch to make it a significant piece, then you are not going to get rich from your watch.

In my opinion, these are "Factors" that go help determine the "value" of a Gruen watch. But before you begin to research these factors below, take a quick look at eBay's sold Gruen listings.   • The best way I know of to look at current market values is to look on eBay at the completed listings. This is the market value at the moment in my opinion. Scour ebay for your watch.

• • There is a relatively easy way to find the age of the watch using the Gruen Style Number Dating Technique. Type that phrase into Google and you'll find a Gruen site with the information / paper posted there. The only requirement is that you can remove the movement from the case.
  • Knowing the model name and thus the age and other stats about your watch is very helpful. Buyers like knowing what they are buying
  • The age is a determining factor as well, of course. You will know the age when you find the model name
