Type your answer here... Value should be similar to Marlin 336c (Marlin made the JC Higgens model 45 under contract for Sears). 1960-61 was the last production year for this rifle.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_value_of_a_JC_Higgins_model_29_22_cal_rifle_serial_583_79_semi_automatic_in_good_condition I would also like to know the approximate year model
I am not sure of all this information but I can tell you this. Any JC Higgins BB rifle/gun starting with 126 was made by Crosman airgun. Any BB rifle/gun starting with 799 was made by Daisy airgun for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Now for your rifle. I believe it is a rifle. (Right?) It has a lever action and looks similar to a Winchester? If so, it originally was made by the P.Y. Hahn company but was bought out by Crosman. It's called the Crosman model 166 (Hahn Super BB Repeater) made 1958-71. I can't give you a value, because you have not stated the condition of the rifle. Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair or Poor. Does it still work? I need to know more information to give you an estimate.
Your rifle was made in the year 1951.
This appears to be a 1894 Winchester style rifle made by Daisy. All 799.xxxx JC Higgins were made for sears by Daisy air rifle. Crosman made all 126.xxxx rifles for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Your particular rifle was made between 1952 & 1955
The J.C. Higgins Model 10124 single-shot rifle was produced by the J.C. Higgins brand, which was a private label used by the Sears, Roebuck and Company for firearms sold from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. Specifically, the Model 10124 was manufactured during the 1950s. Therefore, the rifle would be approximately 60 to 70 years old, depending on the exact year of production.
The J.C. Higgins model 101.24 bolt action rifle was produced between 1946 and 1964. This model was sold through Sears, Roebuck and Company and was manufactured by various companies, primarily by High Standard. The specific year of production can vary depending on the serial number.
