∙ 14y agoIt was certainly not December 25 as this was given to the Christians because it coincided with a Roman holiday. June 6 is said to be the date of Christ birth though many will dispute this .
I'm a Christian for over 50 years and I don't belive that is ture, because the scripts state that Jesus was born in the fall of year

∙ 13y agoJesus was born either before 4 BC (when Herod the Great died) or in 6 AD (when the historical Census of Quirinius was undertaken). The traditional date, 25 December 1 BC (not 1 AD, see below), is a combination between a symbolic choice (for the day of the year) and a (mis)calculation of Dionysius Exiguus (for the year itself).
He almost certainly was not born any time near December 25, since shepherds would probably not have been watching their flocks at night in the fields at that season of the year.
Beyond that, nobody really knows for certain.

∙ 11y agoThe Catholic Church chose December 25 to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but it did not intend to imply that this is Jesus' birthday, even though this is exactly 9 months after the day it celebrates the Annunciation. Based on clues in the Gospels, it is more likely that the birth of Jesus occurred closer to Easter time.
