Answer . You did not state the model, but there was an Automatic-5 with that number made in 1953.
What model is this for? The serial number is not a Auto-5 number of Browning Arms Co.. What model is this for?
This sounds like a American Browning Automatic shotgun. If correct, that means this serial number is on the side of the frame. If this matches your gun, it's a 16ga. made in 1941

We need to know the model and guage. Does the serial number have a letter and or number above it?. Value is too difficult to be accurate without seeing the gun. Condition which includes the amount of original finish and original configuration will determine value. Guns with recoil pads (other than …Mag 12's) poly-chokes and compensators will reduce value. Recommend taking it to a gun shop for appraisal ( Full Answer )
Model can't be determined by your serial number here on Wiki. Please use the related link below to the Browning gun date web page for your answer.
Browning.com has a sn function on their web site you can use to look it up.
With this serial number it would have been made in 1926. If there is a letter above or preceding this number it would change the date.
Which model are you asking about? Serial numbers can be the same for different models. If this is an Auto-5 Shotgun, then the year would be 1903, however it is recommended to re-verify the serial number. Is there a letter and/or a number and letter above the four digits of "5614", or a letter preced…ing the number? If so, then your serial number is not complete without them and this gun would be identified with a different date. ( Full Answer )
Can't be answered without a detailed description of all markings, action type, gauge, finish, barrel length, condition, accessories, box, papers, etc..
