Nuremberg is famous for its Christmas-time fairs, where over 200 people set up stalls to sell gingerbread, bakery goods, sweets and typical Christmas articles such as Christmas tree angels, cribs, Christmas tree ornaments, candles, toys as well as many arts and craft products. Be sure to see the Nuremberg Plum People and the Nativity scenes. The German National Museum is open year-round, and affords you days of entertainment. The Hauptmarket, also the site of the Christmas festival, has year-round flea markets where you can shop. Of course, cross-country skiing is an excellent adventure in the wintertime.
