It could been Who's the Boss? because Who's the Boss pilot was on air 2 days before the final episode of Three's Company
It refers to the "Nine Days' Wonder" when Will Kemp, the chief pratfall artist in Shakespeare's company, danced a "morris" dance from London to Norwich. A Nine Days' Wonder ( the Mediaeval form of today's Fifteen Minutes of Fame ) had people amazed for three days, had them talking for another three, but after three more days it was forgotten.
The Ex date is the last day which the seller will get the declared dividend. It is generally two trading days before the record date. The record date is the date which the dividend is assigned to the owner on the company's record books. The difference exists because of the time lag between the actual sale of the stock and when it's recorded on the company's books. So if you buy a stock on the day after the Ex date, the seller will still get the dividend because his/her name will appear on the company's books on the record date.
I think this is normal, since sometimes there is time difference or the express company delay.
