Depending on the computer in the vehicle, you may need to disconnect the ECM plug on the distributor before doing this, and then reset the ECM trouble code afterwords. Consult the shop manual for details, because I'm not certain. In all probability, if there are two plugs on the distributor, one of two wires and one of four wires, the ECM connector is the one with four wires.
