Transpiration is the evaporation of cellular water (in the form of water vapour) from the stoma in the leaves of the plants. Stoma are "pores" and are generally located on the underside of the leaves of plants.

Water accumulating in the leaves of the plants is lost as water vapor through the process of transpiration, this is similar to the process of sweating in animals.

Transpiration accomplishes two things, it does cool the leaves slightly through evaporative cooling, it also causes what is referred to as "evaporative draw" or "evaporative suction", this causes a slight low pressure in the leaves where the water is evaporating from, this provides a slight suction force assisting with water being drawn up the stem of the plant.

How does tonicity relate to osmosis?

Tonicity refers to the measure of the effective osmotic pressure gradient between two solutions. The higher the difference in the tonicity between the two solutions, the more osmosis transpires.

Why is condensation important to weather?

Condensation leads to Evaporation, which leads to Transpiration. When water gathers, it eventually evaporates, or turns into a gas because of heat, and travels across the land until it transpires (falls down) as precipitation. (rain, sleet, or snow)

What of these transports nutrients made in the leaves to all parts of the plant?

Most of the useful nutrients are dissolved or suspended in groundwater. Capillary action draws this water into the roots and up the plant, as moisture transpires from the leaves of the plant, somewhat like a siphon. Capillary action is a consequence of the surface tension of water. Once the water is in the cells of the plant, its cellular processes extract nutrients in various ways.

Which gases will be exchanged in the stomata?

Oxygen and carbon dioxide. (O2) and (CO2)

When do green plants transpires the most during night or day?

During the daytime. There are many factors that contribute to this, but four main ones are humidity, wind, temperature, and sunlight. When plants make their food through photosynthesis, they end up producing CO2. They release this by opening the stomata in the leaves. This forces the plant to transpire as the sun evaporates the water. Also, the temperature plays a major role. The warmer the temp. is, the faster the water will evaporate out of the pores. As for humidity, something in a drier area will be able to release its moisture than it would be in a damper area. This is diffusion- think of it as a sponge on a paper vs. a bowl of water. The wind simply helps with this because once the plant releases its moisture into the air, the wind brings drier, less damp air around the leaf.
