What is value of 1937 silver penny?
If your Penny is a small coin of about 11 mm diameter with a crowned 1 on the reverse, it is a Maundy Penny and might fetch anything up to £20 GBP if it is in mint condition.
If it is a regular penny of 30.81 mm diameter with the seated figure of Britannia on the reverse, not much. Modified coins have little if any collector value.
How much is a silver penny worth in mint condition and what is a penny from 1967 with a silver front and a goldish looking back?
You might have a British "maundy penny" or it could be a normal British penny or American cent that appears to be silver. If you have the latter, it's not silver. Those coins were made of bronze, but sometimes people plate them for use in jewelry, etc. In either case if the coin was plated it has no collector value anymore.
if the size of your penny is the same size as a copper penny and your penny is SOLID silver then a silver penny would be about 2.1 grams and today(june 25 2012) silver price is about $28.79 an ounce and there are 31.1 grams in 1 ounce making you penny worth about $1.90 but since the (kind of ) rarity it would be about $3 to somebody on ebay(+shipping) hope i helped :)
No general circulation Australian Penny was ever minted in silver. If you have an Australian 1911 silver Penny, it is because somebody plated it, and it is subsequently worthless as a collectible coin. There were a few silver Pennies minted in later years, but they were minted as a trial and never released.
