The Savage springfield 840 is the later version of the Saveage 340. Midway USA has a #1 weaver mount for the 840. Under savage 340 they also offer a B-square mount with rings that has better reviews than the weaver mount.
The average savage model 340 is currently valued at between 100-200 dollars depending on the condition of your firearm.
The value of a savage 340 BC 222 rem would actually depend on a couple different things. Some of these things would include the age and condition.
50-275 USD or so
What in the world is an "old Lucy gun". I also have never heard that term. I thought it might be a Winchester'94 since they do rattle a little bit if the lever isn't held against the tang, but the number he posted matches a Sears gun that is the same as a Savage 340 (more or less). That said, does anyone know the current value of a Savage 340?
The Savage model 340 was made from 1950-1985,while the Savage model 340C,and 340S deluxe were made from 1952-1960.Yours could also be made during this time span.
You need a Weaver Side Mount #2 (which is the base). Weaver also make 1" side mount rings that mount onto this base. That's what I have on my .222 Savage 340.
I have a Savage Model 340 30-30 I would like some info on this gun It is a bolt action. Update/Edited Answer - The E model does not have much more of a value than a plain 340. There's just not that much extra demand or "value added" for a checkered stock. Plain Jane 340's in good condition are selling for around $250-$300 at various Gun/Pawn Shops around here (Georgia, USA). The checkered stock, or E version, might bring the price up $10-20, but I doubt it would add more than that.
Your Savage Model 340 is valued at; Exc. Cond: $375.00 USD V.G. Cond: $325.00 USD Good Cond: $250.00 USD Hope this helps you out,
