There are others providing a "Virtual Flying environment" which use Microsoft and X-Plane software like Virtual Skies and IVAO. These undertake the same function offering people who want to be virtual pilots and Air traffic controllers opportunities to do so without the risk of real world issues

You can only become a tower if you use the fsx multiplayer option. If you join on line flight similator groups such as Virtual Skies, Ivao and Vatsim you will need to download a standalone application that works with the Fllight Sim package
