The thermosphere (above 80 km above the Earth's surface) is the hottest layer. The temperature as high as thousands of degrees as the few molecules that are present in the thermosphere receive large amounts of energy from the Sun. However, it would actually feel very cold as very few molecules will hit our skin and transfer enough energy make us feel the heat..
Tropopause
The warmest layer of the atmosphere is the Thermosphere
Cold because the higher up you go in the atmosphere the colder it gets, but the warmest layer of the atmosphere is the thermoshere. Also a good indication of the temperature of a layer in the atmosphere is to look at the weather, because on a good sized mountain there is snow at the top.
Thermosphere and the exosphere
Troposphere contains nearly all of the atmosphere's clouds. This is for 2 reasons: first, almost all water vapor is contained in this layer. Second, the air is inherently unstable, since it is warmest at the bottom. The causes the air to always want to rise, creating clouds under the right conditions.

warmest and thinnest
You know that as you go up, it gets colder. The troposphere would be the warmest layer and evaporation happens there
The top layer of the ocean is the warmest because it is always in contact with the sun.

The layers of the atmosphere are thetroposhphere where most of the weather occurs and this is the layer we live on. The stratospher is the layer that contains thes ozone and 19% of the gasses. The moseospher is the thirs layer and is the coldest plus meteors burn up in this layer. The thermospher is the 4th layer and the warmest. The exosphere is the outer most layer and is often called outerspace.
