Non-living things do not excrete as they lack the ability to produce waste or extract nutrients like living organisms do through their metabolic processes. Excretion is a biological process that involves living organisms.
it harms living things by make there natural habitat dirty and in some cases they die because if they live in the water many harmful stuff can be poured inside .
In water there are such things as: feces, dirt, bacteria etc.
Water pollution can make water unfit to drink.

If you don't want dirty, cloudy looking water, of course it is very important just as a visual thing. Fish don't like breathing and living in dirty water any more than you would like living and breathing in dirty air.
animals surely die by sewage water when dirty water is drank by animals ,they die..fishes living in dirty water can also not survive.the water make it difficult for them to respire.
